We helped #PlayForLives. You can too.

Mid-last week, I got a call asking if Divine Write would like to donate some web copy to the #PlayForLives campaign. When I found out what it is, I couldn’t help but say yes.
What is #PlayForLives?
Many of Australia’s essential service organisations rely on volunteers, and most of those volunteers are over 65. In other words, they’re in a very high risk group when it comes to the virus, and as a result they can no longer volunteer.
This means cancer patients aren’t getting to hospital, the elderly aren’t getting their meals delivered, the sick aren’t getting their medications. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
#PlayForLives is a fantastic initiative spearheaded by soccer superstar, Craig Foster. Its goal is to get our professional sportspeople off the bench and into the thousands of essential volunteer positions left vacant in the wake of the coronavirus.
Why sportspeople? For this answer, and lots more info about this fantastic campaign, you’ll have to visit the website we wrote: https://www.playforlives.org/.
Thanks to some great people
I’d like to extend a very big thank-you to Rod Vallis and Mariella Attard for stepping up to the plate and helping me get this copy out the door on time. You guys are awesome!
I’d also like to say thanks to Rob Wise, the CEO of Be Collective. Rob adapted his company’s volunteer management software so that it could be used to bring together the campaign’s 3 stakeholder groups: community organisations, sports organisations and sportspeople.
And, of course, a huge thank-you to Craig Foster for getting the whole thing up and running.
