User experience (UX) design, home page copy and explainer video script.
The client
Pearing provides software solutions to complex technical problems. But not in the usual way. They get customers to present their problems, then Pearing’s stable of freelance software engineers pose a variety of different solutions. The customer chooses the solution they like best, and the software engineers sub-contract directly to that customer. Pearing provides the workplace and resources to complete their projects – and to pursue their own independent projects – all free. It’s able to do this because the Australian Government covers its costs (through the R&D Tax Offset).
What they needed
In 2011, Pearing needed a script for a demo video targeting contractors, and home page copy targeting clients.
What we did
The client’s offering was a new – and very unorthodox – way of doing things. We needed to explain the setup in a way that would foster understanding and eliminate suspicion.
We planned the client’s home page layout, wrote their home page copy, and wrote a 1min 35sec script for a demo video. (We also recorded a sample voiceover recording, so the client’s video team would understand its timings, intonation, etc.)
